Folkbaltica 2012

«Jazzthetik» Jazz-magazine, Germany 13.5. 2012 – Guido Diesing

The fusion of old and new by Norwegian duo Sinikka Langeland (kantele, vocals) and Bjørn Kjellemyr (bass) was convincing. Shamanistic rune chants met grooving bass motifs, and Langeland demonstrated how modern a kantele could sound. She also proved how effective these archaic incantations still are today by singing a song that protects against wolves: not a single visitor was injured by a wolf during the whole of the festival.
